CentBrowser Forum

Full Version: [BUG] Some italic fonts are rendered improperly when DirectWrite is disabled
You're currently viewing a stripped down version of our content. View the full version with proper formatting.
Many web sites use Open Sans as their primary font.
If I disable DirectWrite, Cent Browser renders Italic Open Sans improperly. See attachments for contrast.

You can also refer to https://www.collinsdictionary.com/us/dic...raordinary
and search for "adverb" within the page, which is of Italic Open Sans.
If you have disabled DirectWrite and didn't use custom CSS for the site you should find it rendered in a strange way.

Well, since disabling DirecteWrite is no longer supported officially by Google, I came up with a workaround by using "Noto Sans" instead of "Open Sans". The look similar and "Noto Sans" has better compatibility with DirectedWrite disabled.
Thanks for sharing, arshcaria.
