Unfortunately, the problems with the new Cent Browser are increasing day by day.
The last problem I encountered is this:
"www.thewindowsclub.com" is a site I know but rarely visit; and
this site has now added itself (only) to the Cent Browser as a second homepage (tab) opened at the start (see the links below for screenshots)
; but it does not appear in the "Settings > On startup > Open a specific page or set of pages" section;

For this reason, I got a
search for content in the Cent Browser
portable folder for the word
"thewindowsclub". And search results:
500 items.
Since it would take a long time to delete this 500 items, I immediately created a new portable Cent Browser folder and added the
"User Data" folder, which contains my personal settings that I have saved in advance.

without my permission;

I think Cent Browser is getting weaker for security in the new version...
We have never changed anything regarding homepage management.
So this may be a common issue of Chrome/Chromium.
And are you sure this was added by the website itself but not something else(extension/software)?
And have you checked chrome://policy/?

of course it does not appear...this is a pinned tab which has nothing to do with the start page(s). This is not a homepage, only a pinned tab.
And the point of a pinned tab is that it's loaded EVERYTIME you launch the browser. Like on any browser. I don't see any security problem, because pinned tab are set BY THE USER, nothing else can pin it automatically. Maybe you have hit by inadertence the keyboard shorcut (ALT+N) or right-clicked the tab and choose "Pin tab" ?
I can browse this website without any problem (latest CB portable or not, x64), and no, it didn't pinned itself on the latest revision of CentBrowser.
If you have kept the user data, this is easy to fix (and see it's not a bug in CB) : go on the pinned tab, press ALT+N to unpin it > close the tab > you're done ! It will never respawn.
ps : there is a lot of references to this website, probably because of the cache data.
Finally, no offense (this is really not the purpose of my answer), maybe I'm wrong, but :
1) I don't see the point. If you are experienced, you should know about pinned tab, you should also know that it's not related at all with the start page(s) or any option in CentBrowser.
2) you should not, they are not guilty at all
3) not true...CentBrowser team is working hard to follow Chromium/Chrome releases. But this team does not have hundred of developers dedicated to this Herculean task

So, a forum moderator should not try to go too far in technical matters (such as computer security), not to fall into a funny situation...
* It is almost impossible for someone else to use my computer without my knowledge.
In that case, who could have pinned the site "theWindowsClub.com"?
* Now, one more question: Let's say that the main page of your browser has changed spontaneously and
"theWindowsClub.com" has started to open. You can not find a solution in the configuration windows like "
Browser Settings", "
Control Panel > Internet Options", "
about:config" to undo this change.
A friend who heard this and said to you:
"Right click on the browser's shortcut and select 'Properties' and delete 'TheWindowsClub.com' which appears in the 'Target' text box!" So you have solved the problem.
Well, who could have added this site to your browser's shortcut?
*The answer to both questions above is exactly the same: Either you sabotaged yourself or the "thewindowsclub.com" site sabotaged you (
taking advantage of the vulnerabilities of
you or
your computer or
the browser you are using)...

I did not try to go "too far in technical matters" nor "fall into a funny situation", you should stop been so condescending with people, seriously.
It seems obvious you didn't even know anything about pinned tab. I'm tagged here as a "super moderator" because I'm helping CB team to fight spamming, nothing else. I answered as a USER and it's not up to you to decide whenever I can answer or not. My "level" here has nothing to do with my answer, exactly the same as your "level" has nothing to do with the bug report you made. I don't have to learn anything, from you or anybody else, so thanks but no thanks.
Do you really think that saying you're an experienced and knowledgeable person about computer security gives you any right or more power than anybody else here ? Seriously you could be Queen Elizabeth II, it wouldn't change anything.
