I also came to ask you guys about this Catsxp browser, I haven't heard a lot about it, but someone earlier mentioned it was the closest to Cent in terms of customization, and that gave me a flare of hope...
Is it safe? I found no threads about it on reddit, can anybody say something for sure?
ive been using catsxp for over 3 months now and havent had any major problems.
updates are so frequent that it feels a little bit like using a beta version though,
im personally happy with it, partly because i use autohotkey, but also because i was able to get close to the feel i liked with cent.

I repeat once again, for the completely stupid, ad blocks appear on the web pages in Сatsxp, which are not in any other browser (I have 5 of them). Basically it's cheap advertising with Aliexpress.
also no ads for me....and it blocks all add as ublock did with Cent. Maybe you downloaded off a 3rd party site, but I trust Softpedia, as that's what they do when posting software....

Try it from softpedia (altho they also download from catsxp, they actual sandbox and test the heck out of all software)...maybe do an "inspect" to figure out what those 5 ads are...maybe ad placeholders due to how their "shields" work (their ad removal)??
Anyway, fine for me, I've been testing and trust it, people. Everyone has an opinion and choice.
I was about to make the switch but the 1 pain (that's been pointed out) is we can't disable directwrite....so for now it's in #2 spot!!
jeffhere, could you please post some screenshots of what it looks like with customization? Is there the same ability to shrink the tabs and toolbar of the browser like in Cent, with that startup command line in Settings?
Will I be able to use chrome themes? I hate that in the original Chrome in latest versions I can't use my favorite themes as they are "old" crx ones.

i agree catsxp is most like cent for:
multicolumn folders in bookmarks bar
opening tabs in new pages by default if not on same domain
popup handling
most other options.
built-in adblockcng is ok.
it is very current with chrome 98, and auto-update can be disabled by disbling update service if you wish
however:
catsxp seems to use its own sync service. i could not get catsxp to use google sync for passwords and bookmarks. this is important to me because i've got a number of devices.
this pushes me towards slimjet - but it's getting old on chrome 94.
al this takes me closer to jumping to edge (!?!?!)
what browsers do google sync still?
Please update your browser. He is the best of all. But on some sites, a notification appears that the browser is out of date. Thank you and sorry for my poor language skills.

I've been using fresh Cayxp for two days, I haven't seen any ad units yet, so I can't provide any screenshots at the moment. Let's take a look at his behavior.
