yes, in mid version they shut down their internal filters. Go find filters you like and subscribe to them

A few I use:

https://easylist.to/easylist/easylist.txt (the biggie in the list world)

https://easylist.to/easylist/easyprivacy.txt

https://easylist.to/easylist/fanboy-annoyance.txt

but there are plenty out there. Now, Catsxp runs smoother, less cpu usage (which I think was due to their internal filter).

Update to 2.4.3 as 2.4.2 had an annoying bug if you use "right-click" or "double-click" to close tabs. I do and in 2.4.2 the browser would shut down. Emailed the author and he fixed/reversed what was done to get it working again).

yes, in 2.4.3 they removed the "extra filters" and their internal filter.

I added lists like you, and it works better than with their internal filter, which seemed to cause my pc to use more cpu

ok if you like it....but you can just subscribe to lists...i noted a few to another poster but there are many. I always like internal control over an extension, but maybe that's just me. Now Catsxp runs much better for me with the removal of the internal lists.

AdGuard has some great filters too. https://kb.adguard.com/en/general/adguar...rd-filters

Thanks for the hint, very helpful, but I have one problem when I try to add the last filter, something like this appears for me https: //%20//easylist.to/easylist/fanboy-annoyance.txt Download failure, I don't know where it came from address% 20
Cent Browser forum is gradually turning into Catsxp Help Centre, kind of ironing wouldn’t you say?
Speaking of which, has anybody tried the portable version? I’d like to have all my extensions (including their respective settings) migrated the same way Cent does it.
Chromium’s machine ID was a really, really bad idea. 😠

Ok, it's okay, but I have a problem that I'm not blocking ads on youtube, I mean the message, the ad will end in ... what can I do with it.

I am using the portable, updated maine and zipped it up, and placed on other pc's, all was identical to my original.

The zip link brings you to another site (maybe author or someone working with author). I just grabbed the latest beta. Select which version(s) and there is a download link top right (you can see the down arrow icon)...

I rename chrome and chrome proxy to the stable version and just pull over the latest version directory and the new chrome and chrome proxy. They are the only 2 that change with a version change.

So if an issue, I can easily return to old version. Auto-update is disabled in the portable version.

I don't go there much but just tried and no ads for me, no message. I also don't have an account so not signed in. Not sure if that has anything to do with it.

I subscribe to 3 filter lists...

https://easylist.to/easylist/easylist.txt

https://easylist.to/easylist/easyprivacy.txt

https://easylist.to/easylist/fanboy-annoyance.txt

and I get virtually no ads anywhere. If there is an occasional one that appears on a regular site, you can customize block it. Maybe you could delete your filters and start again, since you did get that dl error...

Just use uBlock and save yourself the headache. It might even use less resources/cpu than the built in one.

the built-in one has been removed. You must subscribe to lists or use an extension.

It's still there. It's called Shields.

yes, it might possibly be for tracking only as it is not blocking ads.

try removing (uncheck) any subscriptions for external lists under "subscribe to filter lists". Exit and start it up, I found all my normally quiet sites have ads...like "shields" is not working although it says it is on.

so, you must subscribe to external filters as there is no internal filtering (except possibly for tracking).

At least that was a version or 2 ago. I'm using 2.4.4.3 beta now (all after that have caused the browser to crash when I right-click close a tab.). That's what happens with me. Shields will have no counts or minimal...
