Noticed in the latest 32bit portable version that the main exe has changed from centbrowser.exe to chrome.exe. Curious if this was intentional or was it a mistake?

It is intended because no other solution can work through the extensive compatibility issue with many third-party softwares.(such as IDM, KeyScrambler, etc).
These programs use executable name in their white list.They assume the binary name of all Chromium based browsers is chrome.exe, if not they will not work.

Thanks for the reply. If this is a compatibility issue then this means that Iron, Dragon, Chromodo and Slimjet should also be doing the same thing? Those browsers don't use chrome.exe as their main exe name.

Yes.They should do this.Iron's executable already is chrome.exe. Slimjet's executable slimjet.exe is not in IDM white list.
But this thing is a better-to-do not a must-do.If the bigger company have enough influence and patience to resolve third-party software compatibility issue one by one, they don't need to rename their executable.
In fact the default executable name of Chromium project is chrome.exe.You can find it in the following source code.
