Please try adding command line "--no-sandbox" to have a test.
Or you can check the directory "User Data\Crashpad\reports" and send us the recently generated .dmp files.

Still crashing after adding the command line.
I deleted all old .dmp files, but after made the plugin crash several times, no new .dmp files were created.

Are you using 64-bit browser? If so please overwrite it with 32-bit.
If 32-bit still crashes, please try fully quitting eset or uninstalling it temporarily(if you have backuped its installer and serial key).
Ever before KIS made Chrome crash in similar manner.

Yes, I'm using the 64 bit version.
I test the 32 bit portable and all things seem fine, there're no pdf plugin crashes.

Exactly how do I disable Flash completely and force HTML 5 video? I haven't used this browser for a while and previous versions didn't make you use flash.

chrome://settings/content/flash --> Block sites from running Flash
Other settings --> Disable auto update of bundled Flash Player
Close the Centbrowser and go to the installation path to delete the folder: \PepperFlash
