Feature Request:
Auto-Save for
Driven Sessions with
Increased Tabs
I submitted about three feature requests last year (a massive tab counter, simultaneous use of Cent's tab list and Chrome's tab search, and reorganization of settings items), but a
higher-priority situation arose.
That is the tab-saving feature (Session Manager) for the currently open tabs.
You might say there are plenty of
extensions for that.
But realistically usable ones are rapidly decreasing.
Therefore, I want an
automatic tab session
saving feature
built into the browser.
For example, Session Buddy, which was widely used by Chrome users until recently, started losing its save functionality around last year and can no longer be relied upon.
Many other extensions are similarly affected.
Whether this is due to Chrome restrictions or simply extension bugs is unclear, but either way, they are unreliable.
However, it's worth noting that this issue isn't limited to just one extension.
Currently, the only extension that works properly is Tab Session Manager, ported over from Firefox.
Of course, Chrome has a restore feature when it crashes, and with Cent, recently used tabs might be saved per window.
However, this only offers the modest hope that it might be there after a crash. It only works immediately after a crash and doesn't let users manipulate their own tab sessions.
If Cent had an integrated auto-save feature for tab sessions, it would differentiate it from Chrome, become a key advantage, and be a major reason to use Cent.
Since this got long, I'll split it.
As I stated in the title I wanted,
it's a tab session feature that auto-saves at the moment
new tabs are added (the moment tabs are removed—meaning tabs deleted—doesn't need to be saved; auto-saving when tabs are opened is what matters).
In Chrome, all extensions with auto-save features for entire sessions save at fixed intervals (like every 5 minutes).
Therefore, to differentiate and gain an advantage, the ideal auto-save timing is when tabs are added.
Please consider adding this as an additional feature. I kindly request it.
Firefox has add-ons that automatically save data when tabs are added or removed. I hope you will use this as a reference.
