#1
C:\Users\User\AppData\Local\CentBrowser.

If you are using the installation version and the system username has not changed, theoretically, you can reinstall the browser program.

If you have modified the system username, after installing the browser, visit chrome://version in your browser and check "Profile Path" to find the user data directory. Then exit the browser and copy the User Data folder located at C:\Users\User\AppData\Local\CentBrowser and replace it with the Profile Path.

Check if there is a User Data folder within the C:\Users\User\AppData\Local\CentBrowser folder that you backed up earlier. This User Data folder is where all your user data is stored, and it is a prerequisite for recovering your user data.

After reinstalling the browser program, you can visit chrome://version in your browser and check "Profile Path" to find the user data directory. Then, when you have exited the browser, replace the old User Data folder with the location expected by the current browser program.

Will nothing (such as previously saved bookmarks) be restored? This is somewhat unexpected.

If you were to view that old C:\Users\User\AppData\Local\CentBrowser\**\User Data\Default\Bookmarks file with a text editor, would you be able to see that it contains your old bookmarks?

Use a text editor to view these two files. Do they contain records of past bookmarks?

Since the old data does indeed exist and is intact, it should be recoverable by restoring it to the User Data directory under normal circumstances.

So, if you only replace the Bookmarks file with the one in the same location within the current data directory, will the bookmarks in the browser be restored?
