Is it possible to stay signed into sync while signing into different Gmail accounts?

have you tried changing "chrome://flags/#account-consistency" to "Disabled"?

That was the first thing I tried but nope. Until an extension comes along that does what I need I'll just have to manually re-sign in on each PC to re-sync book marks. 

The other thing that was so useful with the old sync was the ability to see almost in real time at my PC if a user had installed a VPN extension to bypass our internet filters
