the X on tabs to close them is missing

my roommate just installed cent browser and is in the process of slowly building it up and would like to know how to restore the x on tabs for closing them? we already went through all the setting and set everything to his liking and needs except for that. thanks

Additional information:

As the number of tabs opened in the web browser increases, the tab bars become narrower; so that first the names of the tabs, then the close buttons disappear, and only the icons remain.
