"Page Unresponsive" error on some websites
Posted by: Sneisi - 08-04-2024, 09:07 AM - Forum: General Discuss - Replies (8)

Since my update from Cent Browser 5.0.1002.354, I regularly came across certain websites with the notification of a "Page Unresponsive" error.

Examples of "Page Unresponsive" Errors:
1) XDA Developers | 10 Chrome Flags you should consider enabling
2) Reuters  »  Sports  »  Formula1

Compared to other browsers Cent Browser is my favorite Chromium-based browser.
Cent Browser is a fantastic browser with unique user customization options and features, but the level of updates is a little disappointing.

With other Chromium based browsers that are currently up to date, I don't have that "Page Unresponsive" errors. Other Chromium based browser, that are focused on privacy, are close to each other but they don't offer some of the unique user customization options and features that Cent Browser offers.

The "Page Unresponsive" errors can be disappointing, but for me it's not easy to find a Chromium based browser to replace Cent Browser. Honestly, I don't want to replace Cent Browser as my main browser; I'm just longing for an updated version of Cent Browser, where the "Page Unresponsive" error is fixed.

  Pinch-to-zoom using mouse
Posted by: ZenBeer - 07-29-2024, 04:49 PM - Forum: Plugins & Extensions - Replies (2)

Pinch-to-zoom is a feature I have grown to love on both my smartphone and my Windows 10 laptop/trackpad.  What if you use a desktop and mouse?  Microsoft forgot about desktop users.  Fortunately there is an extension that lets you use your mouse's scroll wheel to mimic pinch-to-zoom.

Mouse Pinch-to-Zoom.

You hold down ALT and use the scroll wheel to zoom in and out just like your smartphone then scroll around the page.  Works better than the built-in page zoom that reformats the page.

I tested with Windows 7 & 10.

Was JPEG-XL support let go? Couldn't Thorium's path be followed?
Posted by: avada - 07-25-2024, 09:38 AM - Forum: Bugs & Suggestions - Replies (2)

Hi!

So JPEG-XL support was removed from Centbrowser as well. Can't it be re-added the same way Thorium did?

Add support for ГОСТ through the msspi interface
Posted by: PuppyLo - 07-18-2024, 04:27 PM - Forum: Bugs & Suggestions - Replies (4)

Hello, could you tell me if it is possible to add support for ГОСТ through the msspi interface. For access to some Russian sites GOST support is required.
“You are using an Internet browser that does not support encryption of secure connections
according to ГОСТ Р 34.11-2012”
An example of implementing such support in a browser based on Chromium

Photo Cent Browser Screens
Posted by: csanchez - 07-10-2024, 03:54 PM - Forum: General Discuss - Replies (1)

Npackd is a package manager for Windows that I recently discovered, I think it's great.
https://npackd.appspot.com/

I noticed that the information, screenshots and icon of Cent Browser in the Npackd repository are quite outdated, so I was looking to update this, however I saw another detail.

The Cent Browser website has no Cent Browser screenshots, so you have to resort to third party sites if needed.

I couldn't find the single icon either, just the icon with the text, which is what is available on the website.

The main site also does not show a description of the browser, although it is in the code.
"Cent Browser is an enhanced web browser based on Chromium with many convenient features like super drag, mouse gesture, scrollable tab bar, advanced browsing options and more."

It would be good to update the main page a bit to include these things that I think are useful.

I guess the post can also be used to share images of Cent as you have it set up and show cool screenshots  Biggrin

Any standalone analogue of Cent's video grabber?
Posted by: rey - 07-09-2024, 12:49 AM - Forum: General Discuss - Replies (12)

Cent has a marvelous video grabber, that can even save full video from sites which send it as small pieces, making ordinary video-saving utilities fail. Still Cant's  video-grabber has 2 down-sides:
1. There is no way to make queue.
Surely one can make several downloads simultaneously, but for some reasons sometimes it results in random "damaged bits" in downloaded video. Don't know what causes that, maybe it's even purely due to say local internet signal quality, still when downloading one video after another was fully grabbed never results in any artifacts/errors.
2. Browser must be running while download proceeds.
Nowadays browsers eat up resources pretty high, and sometimes it's uncomfortable to keep it running just for the grabber to finish the job.

So may it happen anybody can propose some standalone video grabber, that
- works same good as Cent's one (mainly with "catching streaming video" as a full one)
- allows to to choose either to make simultaneous downloads or pre-create queue for download one-by-one
- light on resources (so it would use at least half less resources than usually browser does)

Pardon me if it's not a proper branch for such question, please move the right branch if needed.
